Share 63 Views   3 comments In photo: Clark Hall Estate (Glo Sho) Bridge in Layou completely cut off.Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit reports that the estimated cost to repair the damage to the Clark Hall Estate Bridge (Glo Sho) in Layou is EC$9 million.The Matthieu Dam overflowed its banks in the early hours this morning, cutting off a portion of the Clark Hall Estate Bridge and causing immense damage to several businesses and homes in the community.Honourable Skerrit who was at the time visiting the area and assessing the damage says, this unfortunate incident should be an eye opener and reminder that we live in a disaster prone country and are therefore not immune to disasters.The Prime Minister also sympathized with the families and villagers who have lost their homes, livestock, agricultural farms and produce, vehicles, as well as other properties as a result of this disaster.According to the Prime Minister the Government will double its efforts to complete the Layou to Pond Case link road in the quickest possible time ast he Clark Hall Estate Bridge is now immortorable.Meantime he is very pleased with the quick response from the Dominica Red Cross, the Dominica Police Force and Public Works Corporation, and commends them for their efforts.Dominica Vibes News Sharecenter_img LocalNews Estimated cost to repair Layou Bridge is EC$9 million, says PM Skerrit by: – July 28, 2011 Share Tweetlast_img
