first_imgCcleaner has long been a favorite utility of geeks and non-geeks alike, thanks to its no-hassle system maintenance abilities. Piriform, the company behind Ccleaner, does a good job of keeping pace with the Web browsers the app is designed to clean up after. In today’s Ccleaner 3.06 update support for everyone’s non-finalized standard, HTML5, has been bolted on.Like the other temp files it handles, Ccleaner can now clean up HTML5 IndexedDB files for both Google Chrome and Firefox as well as the HTML5 offline cache files used by Opera and Safari. Internet Explorer support has been enhanced as well, with better removal of temporary Internet files and history items. Ccleaner’s recently-introduced intelligent cookie scanner has gotten a bit brainier, and those with a keen eye for detail will also notice the introduction of the new Google Chrome icon.Ccleaner doesn’t stop with Web browsers, of course — it’s also very good at removing the cruft from your Windows registry, and its skills on that front have been refined. Support for a handful of other applications has been added, too, including CoreFTP, FileZilla, and MusicMatch Jukebox. Both the installer and portable version of Ccleaner have been updated to 3.06. Existing users should receive an update notification when launching the program, while new users can download it directly from Piriform.More at Piriformlast_img
